All Confused Bugs
Susie and Wade looked at Diana together.
Diana remained silent.
She instinctively hugged her husband's neck.
Her husband immediately said, "Let go!"
Susie and Wade whispered, "How do we get to this aunt's original home?"
Wade asked, "Her parents' home?"
Susie nodded, "Uh-huh! Grandpa Turtle said that ghost is with her aunt's father."
Wade pondered, "Hmm... What if they refuse?"
After all, it's not their own home!
Kellen said calmly and without changing his expression, "I suggest that you go to her parents' home nearby first, and she should have some hot water to drink. I could have sent you back, but I ran out of gas."
Diana's husband immediately retracted what he was about to say.
He felt that Kellen made sense and for some reason, his hands and feet felt icy cold.
Susie and Wade looked at Kellen with admiration.
Their dad (uncle) is awesome!
Diana's husband thought for a moment and said, "Then... let's go to my in-laws' house first!"
He seemed very reluctant.
It was very close to Diana's parents' house, and after driving for less than two minutes, Kellen parked the car and the group walked towards the residential area.
Susie asked curiously, "Uncle, you don't seem to want to go to Aunt's house!"
Diana's husband didn't say anything, and Diana said first, "He never likes going there."
Her husband's family is from another province.
Every year during New Year, National Day, and other Festival, she would willingly drive over a thousand kilometers back to her husband's hometown without complaint.
But her parents' house is less than ten minutes away from their home, and he is unwilling to come and doesn't want to celebrate the holidays with them.
She would bring gifts to her in-laws, cook, feed the chickens, and help with chores when she visits her husband's family.
But her husband wouldn't do any of these things.
Every time they visit her parents, her husband would buy some vegetables at most, and once they arrive, he would sit alone playing on his phone.
Diana's husband sneered, "With a family like yours, what's the point of going there? To hear you talk about how you spend money on your parents?"
Diana was annoyed, "You're going too far. You never told my parents that you disagreed with anything!"
That's right, she was the one running between the two families.
He wanted her to break ties with her parents and sort things out with her brother.
But he never stood by her side, always making her go alone.
If she didn't handle it well, he would be sarcastic and taunt her when she got back.
As expected, Diana's husband said again, "Your family's affairs are your own to deal with. What's it to do with me? I don't want to get involved with your family's affairs."
"Deal with it yourself. You're an adult, can't you handle this?"
Diana said angrily, "Let me get off!"
Diana's husband completely ignored her.
Susie looked at the two of them arguing, her little head full of questions.
"Brother, is this what people mean by being poisonous tongued?" she asked softly.
Wade nodded, "Yes, it is."
Susie sighed, her little face serious, her little eyebrows furrowed.
She said, "Uncle, I don't think what you're doing is right."
"Although Uncle knows what's right, he doesn't want to speak up."
"Uncle doesn't want to wade into troubled waters, but he's not happy, and he won't stand up and speak out. He knows that Auntie is confused, but he does nothing except blame her."
Although Susie didn't know why adults were so strange and whether what they were doing was right or wrong, in her own thinking, she felt that aunt and uncle were husband and wife, and they should solve things together.
It's like Grandpa Garett and Grandma Chloe. Sometimes Grandpa Garett would blame Grandma Chloe, but Grandpa Garett was tough on the outside but soft on the inside, and while he scolded, he would help Grandma Chloe get things done.
"Since Uncle thinks Aunt is confused, why does he just stand by and do nothing?"
Diana's husband was momentarily speechless.
He found himself at a loss for words.
He muttered, "I don't want to deal with these troublesome things, it affects my mood."
Diana pursed her lips and said nothing.
Susie also fell silent, just leaning on Kellen's shoulder and quietly asking her own doubts, "Daddy, who is right and who is wrong between Uncle and Aunt?"
Kellen replied indifferently, "Both are wrong."
He roughly listened to the situation; two-thirds of Diana's income were spent on her parents and younger brother because she thought her husband was not short of money, and it was only natural to help support her parents and siblings with her own abilities.
Diana's husband felt unhappy, but he didn't talk to his in-laws about it, instead, he just gave Diana the silent treatment and made sarcastic remarks.
No one solved the problem, and they all blamed each other.
Everyone fell silent and entered the residential area, returning to Diana's parents' house.
Neither of the two elderly people nor Zach had gotten up yet.
During this period, Diana would come over early in the morning to buy groceries and make breakfast, and they had gotten used to it.
Diana felt a little better when she got home and struggled to stand up, muttering, "I'll go boil some water."
Diana's husband thought for a moment and followed her into the kitchen.
In no time, the sound of the two of them arguing in hushed voices could be heard from the kitchen.
Susie sat obediently on the sofa, staring at the door of one of the rooms.
"Spirit of heaven and earth, little ghost, come out quickly~" Susie murmured as she pinched her little finger.
Wade said, "Is this effective? Didn't you say that was an evil ghost? Can you beat it?"
Susie thought for a moment, "You're right, big brother."
The next moment, a bewildered unlucky ghost, a coward ghost, and a fickle ghost were thrown out.
"What's going on? Do we still have to work during Ghost Festival?" the fickle ghost asked.
The unlucky ghost resisted, "I won't do it!"
The coward ghost said, "It's okay, right...?"
Susie pointed to a room, "Brothers and sisters, can you help Susie catch that ghost?"
The little one looked innocently at the three evil ghosts, blinked her eyes, and pleaded.
The fickle ghost remained silent.
He didn't want to, but the little one called him brother.
The unlucky ghost remained silent.
He didn't want to either, but the little one called him brother.
The coward ghost had a gentle gaze and no principles. "Okay, as long as I can help, brother will help Susie."
The confused ghost was absorbing the aura from the old man's body.
Suddenly feeling something was wrong, he raised his head and saw three evil ghosts appear at the door, staring at him hungrily.
The coward ghost asked, "What kind of ghost is this?"
The fickle ghost said, "With my many years of ghost hunting experience, it's probably a confused ghost."
The unlucky ghost said, "You guys go first, I'll cover the back."
The confused ghost said, "?"
He looked around strangely and asked, "What's up, do you guys also want a bite?"
