It's Shameful to Act Cute

Susie looked at the ghosts filling the room and whispered, "Jonathan, help me stop Niki. I want to help these ghosts from suffering."

Jonathan didn't hesitate. He nodded and said, "Okay."

Niki snatched her doll back from Megan's hands, but one of the doll's shoes was taken away and she couldn't get it back no matter how hard she tried.

She grumbled and looked extremely angry, then she saw Jonathan looking at her with an unusual expression.

"Ugh, Teacher Murray, what's wrong?" Niki immediately put on an extremely polite smile.

Jonathan rubbed his nose and said, "Nothing."

A hint of doubt flashed in Niki's eyes, and she was about to walk past him.

But then Jonathan suddenly reached out and stopped her.

"Jonathan?" Niki was stunned.

Jonathan said, "There's a scene today. You take a leave of absence, but the director mentions a few important points. I'll tell you now."

Niki was confused.

Today was her birthday.

Why would someone talk about acting in a scene when it's someone's birthday?

It was very toxic...

Susie waved her small hands and hopped around the room. She said, "Hi there, ghosts over there, look at me!"

The ghosts on the two display cabinets by the window subconsciously looked toward Susie with a blank expression.

Susie continued to say, "Come over here, ghosts over there follow me."

The ghosts on the display cabinet at the foot of the bed turned around woodenly.

Their expressions were dull and stiff, with only their two eyes slightly moving.

Susie said, "Boom Sha Ka La Ka!"

The ghosts murmured, "…Boom... Sha Ka?"

Susie smiled with curved eyes and muttered something in her mouth. Soon, a golden light appeared in the room.

All the ghosts in the room stood up and slowly walked toward the golden light.

When the golden light disappeared, all the ghosts in the room disappeared with it together.

Susie touched Soul Calabash and whispered, "There are no ghosts to eat today, they are not bad ghosts. Some of them are lost, while others don't have time to react and can't remember who they are..."

She didn't know which of them was someone that others wanted to see but couldn't, or who was an existence that had lost a loved one and couldn't let go.

The existence of Niki's doll attracted these dying souls and became the nourishment for raising the doll.

Susie thought for a moment, felt that this scene was somehow familiar, but she clearly remembered that she had never seen any doll before...

She pouted and pinched Soul Calabash, "What's so strange about this? Spirit gourd, tell me."

Spirit gourd remained silent.

Although it had a mouth, it really can't speak.

Susie let out a small sigh, "Ah, Alex can still talk, you have to work harder!"

Spirit gourd responded with silence.

Jonathan used all his eloquence, not only telling the story of today's scene but also summarizing the parts that hadn't been acted well before.

Just as he was about to collapse and was ready to ask Niki for her opinion on how to act the scenes later.

Susie finally came out!

Jonathan secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Niki also quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Save me, Niki didn’t know what happened with Jonathan, and he talked to me for ten minutes about the scene!

Susie blinked, "Niki, you're back!"

Niki hurried over and said, "Megan doesn't know what's gotten into her. She even takes away one of Yara's shoes... I don't know what to say anymore."

Susie asked, "Niki, where do you make your dolls?"

Niki said, "The name of that doll company is Blossom Bungalow...what's wrong?"

Susie shook her head, "Nothing, Niki, don't go there to make dolls in the future! The things they make are not good."

Niki was confused.

Just a crack...it's not that serious...

Although she was skeptical, the rank of this doll company in her heart had still dropped a bit.

Niki said, "Susie, you go downstairs with Jonathan to eat first, I'll take care of this doll."

Susie nodded and reminded her, "Niki, remember to open the curtains. The dolls haven't seen the sun, so they might feel uncomfortable."

Niki was stunned and subconsciously nodded. She watched Jonathan carry Susie downstairs.

She returned to the room in confusion, not knowing why she felt that the room had become stuffy.

The doll company said that it was best not to let the dolls be exposed to the sun, otherwise, they might turn yellow and crack.

So, she had been keeping the curtains closed, and since she usually stayed in the apartment dormitory close to the company when filming, the dolls were kept in the room for longer periods.

Maybe Susie was right...

Niki opened the curtains with a swishing sound.

She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she thought she saw the shadows behind the dolls distort for a moment before returning to normal.

"How strange..."

Niki placed Yara back in her proper position and took a few more photos of it before sending them to the Blossom Bungalow Doll House.

"The crack is located here...and by the way, my younger sister took one of Yara's shoes. Can you please make her another pair…" she typed out.

The workers gave her feedback, and finally, they said, "Miss Gu, we've realized that you're a celebrity. The CB Comic Society will be hosting a Summer Doll Story National Tour in late July. Would you like to be the spokesperson for the first stop? You only need to bring your two favorite dolls to the event!"

A doll exhibition! Niki was overjoyed and confirmed the date and time with them after checking her schedule.

Downstairs, Jonathan brought Susie a small plate of fruit and asked, "Are you finished cleaning up?"

Susie shook her head and corrected him, "I am not gonna cleaning up!"

She explained, "These ghosts aren't powerful. They're just some wild ghosts who are about to dissipate..."

"They don't reincarnate after they died due to unexpected circumstances, and they've been wandering in the human world ever since… But over time, they become more and more like air and gradually dissipate."

"It's like the little girl in front of you just now. She died of an illness and doesn't want to leave her parents, so she doesn't reincarnate. But after a long time, she forgets what her parents look like..."

"She died in the hospital and couldn't find her way home. Later, she is drawn here."

Jonathan's fingertips stiffened.

Susie, you didn't have to explain it in such detail...

"Want some grapes? I will help you get some." Jonathan said calmly.

Susie tilted her head and looked at him, "Jonathan, are you afraid? If you're afraid, I won't say it!"

Jonathan replied, "No, I'm just afraid that you...might get thirsty."

Susie looked like she understood and patted Jonathan.

Jonathan was speechless.

A birthday party that makes people feel uncomfortable finally ended. Jonathan quickly stood up and took the opportunity to bid farewell to Gu's parents with Susie.

Niki asked, "Huh? Are you going home so early…"

She held Susie's hand tightly and seemed unwilling to let go.

Celia looked at her and thought that Niki was too much.

Can't you be less obvious?

She approached Jonathan under the guise of being friendly with the child... she understood, she understood.

Celia smiled warmly and said, "It seems that Susie also likes our Niki. Mr. Murray, please bring Susie to play with us next time when you have time."

As she spoke, she couldn't help but touch Susie's little face.

To be honest, Susie was cute.

If only her younger daughter could be half as cute as Susie...

Megan, who was walking downstairs, happened to see her parents and sister surrounding Susie with infatuated looks.

She sneered and turned her head.

It's shameful to act cute!
