Lena's Parents

The residential area where Lena lives is not high-end. It belongs to an open-style apartment building, where people from all walks of life rent.

Just entered the building, I saw a yellow talisman on the wall, stuck high up, with a jar underneath and a joss stick inserted.

I walked along the corridor to the elevator hall, where there was also a sign on the elevator door. In the corner of the elevator door, there was a can with a lit incense stick inserted in it.

I took the elevator to the twenty-eighth floor, and the elevator lobby had the same layout. The same layout was also present at the entrance of Lena's house.

Just that Lena's house was even more exaggerated, with the front door wide open and an altar set up inside the house. The altar was filled with burning incense, and the candles on both sides seemed to burn day and night, with the wax tears filling up the candle holders.

Inside the house, one could say it was filled with smoke and haze.

The priest's jingle would ring intermittently.

A neighbor opened the door and reflexively took a glance, muttering, "Ah, it's really over the top, scaring people like this!"

Susie asked, "Auntie, do they do this every day at their house?"

The neighbor glanced at a few people and said, "Isn't it? It's fine during the day, but we dare not open the door at night."

Once, the neighbor from across the street happened to come out at night and was so frightened by the scene that they fell ill.

The child in this family had leukemia, and everyone felt sympathetic.

Last week, it was said that he had died, and the neighbors were still grieving. On the first day when we saw Lena's parents collapsing and going crazy, refusing to give up, everyone was still comforting and sympathizing.

But later on, it was no longer possible. Who can withstand the neighbors summoning spirits every day...

"We were afraid to go out even during broad daylight." The neighbor, discontented and helpless, said, "We have spoken to them before, but they don't listen. We are also afraid to say too much. We can't even sleep peacefully at night."

The neighbor didn't dare to stay for long, complained a few words and quickly left.

Susie and her brother walked ahead, while Kellen followed behind, habitually looking around.

The result was that a little girl was pitifully huddled in the corner of the hallway.

"..."

At this moment, the bells inside the house were jingling. Susie knocked on the door, but the person inside didn't hear.

A man sat on the living room sofa, presumably Lena's father, and he was frantically making a phone call.

Faintly, one could hear his pleading voice, "You are an expert in this field, please take a look at my daughter..."

"She didn't die, she definitely didn't die, please, just take a look..."

The phone should have hung up. Lena's father remained silent for a while and then persevered by making another phone call.

During the interval, Lena's mother held a stack of materials and circled them on a piece of paper with a pen, saying, "Honey, look at this. This is the most advanced technology in the United States. Dr. Lauren mentioned that there is a possibility of reviving frozen human experiments completely..."

"And there's this, although it's a novel... but it says here that a woman was cryogenically frozen by her family due to terminal illness, and woke up eighteen years later..."

In the hall, a man dressed in a Taoist robe was vigorously shaking a bell, muttering incessantly and reciting a bunch of spells.

"Soul returns! Soul returns! Soul returns, oh!"

He threw a handful before, and then jumped up triumphantly.

Kellen: "..."

Although they had always wanted to change careers/study to become a priest.

I couldn't jump like that...

Lena's parents finally saw the person at the door, paused for a moment, and quickly came out and said, "Sorry, sorry, our family is a bit special. We disturbed you. Are you the neighbors of this building?"

Lena's mother kept apologizing, "I'm really sorry, it will be fine soon, give us a few more days..."

They didn't want to disturb anyone, but Lena left from this house before she died.

The landlord also came to chase them away, but they couldn't do anything either.

Apart from kneeling down to the landlord and apologizing to the neighbors, they didn't know what else to do.

Susie sighed and wanted to say, "Sir and Ma'am, give up, Lena is already dead."

But she didn't say that, instead she pointed to the corner of the hallway and said, "Sir and Ma'amie, Lena is over there."

Lena's parents were taken aback, and then their eyes instantly turned red, and they hurriedly ran outside.

"Lena, Lena, are you there?"

"Mom and Dad knew that as long as they knew, Lena was still there."

"Don't be afraid, Lena. Dad has already been figuring out a solution for you. We're not afraid, huh!"

"Lena, Mom is here, Mom is here, don't be afraid... Why did you run out? Let's go back home, okay..."

The couple had almost gone crazy, even though they couldn't see Lena, they still crouched in the corner of the hallway, looking extremely insane.

According to outsiders, the couple seemed crazy...

Susie looked at Lena trembling.

Wade also saw it, and sure enough, it was exactly the same as Lena in the freezer.

Just comparing the soul in front of him with the one in the freezer, Wade inexplicably felt less terrified.

Lena burst into tears when she saw someone who could actually see her.

"Sister, Lena is in pain, her whole body hurts!"

"That priest did something, and Lena felt very painful!"

Uncle Priest did bring her back home indeed, but she was in so much pain. Her entire soul felt as if it was being nailed down by one nail after another, pulling her back.

Half of her face was torn off, and it fell in the hospital...

Susie said, "Sir and Ma'am, Lena said she was feeling pain all over her body."

She pointed at the priest who was energetically performing a ritual inside the house and said, "His method is wrong. Although he managed to keep Lena's soul, it's as if she has been pierced by millions of nails."

Lena's parents were shocked. They finally managed to look at Susie and asked anxiously, "Can you... can you see Lena? Did she say that?"

Susie nodded.

She took Lena's hand and gently patted it.

The priest who was performing the ritual inside the house suddenly flew away, and the altar also exploded with a bang.

The priest's voice came in shock, "Damn it! Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" (Insert Caocao's shocked expression.gif)
